VILNIUS, Lithuania | June 2023 –
Atrandi Biosciences participated in the 16th Symposium on Bacterial Genetics and Ecology (BaGeCo 2023), featuring a key presentation by esteemed collaborator Dr. Meilee Ling, a Postdoctoral Researcher from the Technical University of Denmark (DTU). In her talk, "Single-Cell Metagenomics," Dr. Ling, emphasized the role of Atrandi's semi-permeable capsule technology in advancing antimicrobial resistance (AMR) research.
Affiliated with the Genomic Epidemiology group led by Professor Frank M. Aarestrup at DTU, Dr. Ling's presentation showcased the efficacy of semi-permeable capsules in tracing plasmids to individual hosts. This novel approach offers a deeper understanding of the complex dynamics of mobile genetic element transfer, a critical aspect of AMR evolution. Dr. Ling's work has also demonstrated exceptional capabilities in capturing previously unknown and unculturable microbes, significantly expanding the horizons of microbial diversity studies.
This collaborative effort, centered around Dr. Meilee Ling's research, reinforces our commitment to advancing microbial ecology research. Dr. Ling's groundbreaking work is on track to become a forthcoming publication, marking a substantial contribution to the ever-evolving landscape of antimicrobial resistance research.
Stay tuned for ongoing updates on Atrandi Biosciences' initiatives, as we continue to push the boundaries of knowledge and foster collaborative efforts in microbiology.
